Cassie Prewitt is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner and Functional Medicine provider with over 18 years of experience in healthcare. Through her virtual functional medicine practice, she helps patients uncover the root causes of chronic symptoms and disease, rather than simply managing symptoms with medication alone.
Cassie began her career as an Emergency Room nurse in San Diego, where she spent 12 years caring for patients in high-acuity emergency settings. This experience gave her a strong clinical foundation and a deep understanding of how quickly health issues can escalate when underlying causes are not addressed.
She later earned her Master of Science in Nursing – Family Nurse Practitioner from California State University San Marcos, graduating Summa Cum Laude. After completing her graduate training, Cassie and her family relocated to Spokane, Washington, where she began practicing as a Nurse Practitioner in urgent care.
While working in conventional medicine, Cassie saw firsthand how many patients continued to struggle with chronic symptoms despite receiving traditional treatment. This led her to pursue functional medicine, a science-based approach that focuses on identifying the root cause of illness and restoring balance in the body.
Cassie believes functional medicine is a powerful complement to modern healthcare, helping fill critical gaps in the traditional medical system. Her approach focuses on the whole person, examining how factors such as nutrition, lifestyle, stress, hormones, gut health, inflammation, and environmental exposures influence overall health.
Through her virtual functional medicine clinic, Cassie partners with patients to create personalized treatment plans designed to restore health at its foundation. She believes lasting healing begins with addressing lifestyle factors and empowering patients to become active participants in their health journey.
Cassie is passionate about helping patients move beyond symptom management and toward true, long-term wellness using a root-cause, upstream approach to medicine.
